A Result of the Past
The obvious answer to number seven would be simply to keep his mouth shut. However, Anders believes it necessary to express his inward emotions. Some outward expressions of emotion would be his mocking of the bank robber. Words like "Oh brave; Did you hear that? Bright boy," express how lightly Anders is handling the situation. As we look further in the story and Anders is remembering his past, we realize that his initial response to the robber was encouraged due to the fact that he had so much pent up inside that he had never shared. By the conclusion of the story the real answer to stopping his death may have been just to be as outwardly as he was to the robber to the baseball player. When Anders neglects to express his inward emotions to the baseball player he inhibits himself from learning a valuable lesson, just keep your mouth shut. Due to his non-outwardly emotion, he unfortunately learns this lesson later on in life causing his untimely death.
